The following Images are a collection of unusual defective inspection items.
Electrical:
The recessed light in the attic is buried up to its warning label in insulation, where it says keep insulation away by 3 inches on all sides for fear of overheating and fire.

The wire and burnt frame is overheating, "knob and tube" wiring in 2009, installed in the eraly 1900s.
Plumbing
This is an asbestos clad boiler.
Outdoors
This is a pool area light. A combination of a portable flood light, duct tape, storage container lid, tree and extension cord.
Roofing
This is a coat hanger downspot bracket.

This is the hot water heater manual which tells you not to store anything on top of the hot water heater
Structure
This is a pair of crushed beams sitting on a column. A shim plate would have prevented this problem.
Chimney
This appliance chimney lacks a liner. This is a monoxide hazard in the house.
Electrical
Pyrolysis is occurring on sub floor above basement laundry light. This is a fire hazard!
Electrical
Two smaller wires are tapped in with the mains. These wires should pass through a circuit breaker prior to distribution in the house. This is a fire hazard.
Plumbing
It would be difficult to run a snake through this access fitting.

This situation is asking for a backup in the sewer line.

Presence of loose flaking Asbestos on steam piping is a health hazard.

Lack of proper wiring makes this a shock hazard.

Beam should rest on cement foundation in "beam pocket" with an air gap all around.

This steel fitting in the copper water line will cause cathodic corrosion, which will lead to leaks.

The roof is past it's intended life.

The steel post in the basement was rusted through to the concrete core.

Nothing wrong here. It was interesting that the home owner took time to polish the copper pipes and paint the iron pipes black.

The leaking trap was replaced with a vacumn hose.
